Johh,
Since the very beginning of my time in Congress — both as an elected official and as a candidate — I've NEVER traded individual stocks. As public servants, I believe the role of the elected official is not to profit off their time in office.
That's why one of the last things I did before we entered into the New Year was sign a discharge petition to bring a bill to the House floor that would stop members of Congress from buying individual stocks.
We owe it to our constituents to hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards. It's our obligation to use our positions to serve the people. Using Congressional insider information to trade stocks violates the STOCK Act, and it erodes the trust of the very people who elected us to fight for them in the first place.
I'm calling on Speaker Johnson to bring this bill to a vote, and urging all of my colleagues — both Republican and Democrat — to support this legislation. I will continue fighting tooth and nail to address this critical issue in order to restore integrity to the lawmaking body in 2026 and beyond. But I need you with me.
Do you agree that it's time to ban members of Congress and their families from trading individual stocks? Become a citizen co-sponsor and add your name to my petition today to demand action from our lawmakers. >> [link removed]
Thanks for your support,
Diana
