John,
Today is the 5th anniversary of the January 6th Insurrection.
I know that since that day, so much chaos has happened that it can be hard to remember just how shocking January 6th was. I know that Trump has said and done so many corrupt, criminal, and just plain absurd things that it feels like he’ll never stop.
It can feel overwhelming to fight back against the constant stream of misinformation, corruption, and overreach. But those in power want us to feel that way.
That’s why that it’s critical — especially now — that we continue to stand up for what is right, for the rule of law, and to protect our elections and our freedoms.
We must not forget that our Capitol was attacked. That Capitol police were attacked and some even died. We must not forget that Trump repeatedly spread lies and information about the 2020 election results. And we must not forget how Republicans in Congress repeated his lies and bent over backwards to protect and defend him.
We won’t let chaos win. And we won’t let January 6 ever happen again.
But to ensure that, we must win –– and we must flip the House of Representatives this November. Our democracy depends on it.
