TELL CONGRESS: After Trump bombed Venezuela and kidnapped President Maduro, Senate Democrats are pushing an urgent war powers resolution THIS WEEK to stop reckless, unconstitutional military action. Sign the petition: Stop Trump’s war on Venezuela!

Trump said that more military airstrikes in Venezuela are on the table if the country doesn’t follow the directives of the White House after the U.S. invasion and kidnapping of President Maduro.1

Senate Democrats are pushing for an urgent vote this week to stop Trump’s reckless, unconstitutional military actions in Venezuela. Senator Tim Kaine said, “We’ve entered the 250th year of American democracy and cannot allow it to devolve into the tyranny that our founders fought to escape.”2

Trump and Marco Rubio are lobbing serious military threats at Mexico, Iran, Colombia, Cuba, and Denmark after their lawless bombing in Venezuela. Congress must immediately check Trump’s law-breaking and assert its authority over warmaking.

The Trump administration talked openly about taking control of Venezuela’s oil reserves for months. Now, Trump has declared that he will run Venezuela, and says he will collaborate with U.S. corporations to “get the oil flowing.”3

“This is rank imperialism,” Senator Bernie Sanders said.4

With votes to stop Trump’s war imminent, the House and Senate must uphold their constitutional responsibility and check Trump’s runaway aggression.
