Dear friend,

Today is January 6th—a day for reflection, caution, and radical hope. For millions across the world today is Three Kinds Day (Epiphany) as well as the 5th anniversary of a right-wing insurrection in these yet to be United States. Yet, we are mere days out from the inauguration of Zohran Mamdani in NYC and the promise of free universal childcare and transportation, as well as affordable housing.


Epiphany is about offering gifts to the least of these (who are most of us) to bring about a moral revolution, resurrection, and reconstruction that values life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for absolutely everyone. It’s about a hope that swells from the bottom and every valley being filled.

From the Kairos Center, we wish you a joy and justice-filled new year.

Join us this Friday January 9th @ 4pm for online conversation and song facilitated by Lu Aya of Songs in the Key of Resistance and The Peace Poets. Weave your heart, song, love, and wisdom together with communities waging dignity on the frontlines for migrant justice!

We will sing songs from the Free Families songbook; get updates from Florida, Texas, and California; and explore together how we can infuse our work with new cultural practices, weekly gatherings, and mutual aid.
