That’s right. Early this year, Trump used his veto pen for the very first time in his second term — not to block the Republican Party’s devastating Medicaid cuts. Not to freeze the GOP’s despicable rollback of LGBTQ+ protections.

He vetoed a bipartisan bill to help communities in southeastern Colorado access clean water.

It’s abhorrent. Families all across the country are seeing right through the President’s lies and empty promises — so he’s taking out his anger on us: the state that’s leading the charge against his vile agenda.

To Trump, the collateral damage doesn’t matter. He doesn’t care about the families he’s hurting and the communities he’s screwing over. He wants to piss Colorado Democrats off — no matter the consequences.

But we cannot allow Trump’s hatred and contempt to divide our state into political factions. Now is the time to stand together — Democrats, Republicans, and independents — against the President’s cruelty.
