January 6 will forever be a dark day. But for Donald Trump and his enablers, inciting a violent mob to attack our nation’s capitol based on lies about our election integrity was only the beginning.
In the aftermath of January 6, Trump and Republican lawmakers gaslit people into thinking our elections are somehow compromised, and they stoked that fear as justification for chipping away at trust in our election process.
We’ve seen it in the countless anti-voter laws passed in states since 2020. We’ve seen it in the distorted language for Ohio citizen-led ballot issues in 2023 and 2024. We’re seeing it play out in real time in Ohio following the passage of S.B. 293.
Their ultimate goal is to minimize the people’s power to vote them out of office.
Friend, it’s been five years since Trump put our democracy on the line, and somehow, the stakes are even higher now. That’s why we must fight to strengthen our line of defense in the states — starting with our Secretary of State.
As your Secretary of State, I will never stand by and let disinformation about our election process be used to take away your power. And I’m ready to go toe-to-toe with the White House and Republicans in Columbus to defend the voices of millions of Ohioans.
If you’re ready to help me defend our state against their extreme attacks on our voting rights, please chip in what you can to support my campaign for Secretary of State. We need an ironclad line of defense to protect our democracy.
