I'm in this position because, like many of you, I grew up watching powerful interests and bad actors take advantage of vulnerable, working families in my community – and I was determined to do something about it.

New Yorkers deserve better. Americans deserve better.

That's why since day one as attorney general, I've made it my unwavering mission to defend the Constitution, protect our democracy, safeguard our freedoms, and stand up for the people who too often get ignored or exploited – even when powerful people try to scare me into backing down.

But that work has only been possible with help from people like you. And right now, I'm up against my first and most important public filing deadline so far on Jan. 11.
