The Lincoln Project

Friend,

Five years ago, Donald Trump lost a fair and free election.

Everybody knew he lost. But that didn’t stop him from crying fraud and calling on his supporters to flood our nation’s capital, beat up police officers, and disrupt our democratic proceedings.

Even though they were outraged in the aftermath of Trump’s insurrection, five years later, most Republicans in Washington refuse to acknowledge that this day even happened.

They act as if they’ve completely forgotten about January 6th and the role the current president played in organizing it.

But we haven’t. And we know that Donald Trump would do it all again tomorrow. Even today, he's suggesting we cancel elections.

Canceling elections is not something you hear from a leader who’s confident his party can win in a fair fight. But that's always been the case. Trump knows his and MAGA’s chances are in the toilet.

So of course he's acting like he has nothing to lose. As we’ve seen throughout this term so far, Trump is doing basically whatever he wants. Nobody stands up to him and nobody tells him when he loses. He’s more dangerous than ever.

The only way we can rule out a future MAGA insurrection? Beating them so badly that they can’t cry fraud.

We have to win so decisively in November that election fraud won’t even be in Trump’s vocabulary. There won’t be any phony investigations, frivolous lawsuits, or fake electors. Just lost MAGA seats and new majorities.

The January 6th insurrectionists are still hanging around our democracy. And Trump isn't going anywhere unless we kick him out. Help us weed them out and make sure another insurrection isn’t on the horizon >>
