‌John, Donald Trump is working to erase the memory of January 6, 2021.

On the anniversary, I want to remind you that this date was not just the day democracy almost fell thanks to Donald Trump — it was one of the many days he has tried to sidestep our democratic process.

In the United States of America, we have no kings, but we do have a president who has convinced himself he is above the Constitution. Over and over again, Donald Trump has sidelined the legislature and spit on "separation of powers" to further his own agenda. Five years ago, he launched an angry mob and directed them to the Capitol. A year ago, he pardoned thousands of them for their crimes.

Generations of Americans have done their part to safeguard our fragile democracy; now it's our turn. One of the best ways we can ensure a government by and for the people, to strengthen and heal our democracy, is to vote in leadership who will hold Donald Trump accountable.
