Five years ago today, our country experienced one of the darkest moments in its history. On January 6th, the peaceful transfer of power, a cornerstone of our democracy, was violently attacked.

We cannot look away, minimize what happened, or pretend it was just another day. January 6th was a warning, and it serves as a reminder that democracy only survives when people are willing to defend it.

That’s the work I am focused on every single day: protecting our democratic institutions, standing up to far-right extremism, and making sure future generations inherit a country where their voices matter and their votes count.
