Patriot,
They want to stab us in the back again.
For years, the U.S. “intelligence” community has abused its ability to spy on innocent Americans without getting proper and constitutional approval.
They outright break the law by searching government databases or they skirt the law by purchasing data from outside providers like your cell phone or internet company.
And every single time they get caught, they cry out, “Mea culpa! It won’t ever happen again. We promise.”
And lo and behold, it happens again, and again, and again . . .
One of the most recent egregious cases of the Deep State stepping in is when the U.S. House was on the cusp of voting to strip down Section 702 of FISA, limiting the powers of the Spy State.
At the last minute, then-Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), leaked out cryptic information about a “serious national security threat.” Nobody knew what the threat was, and it turned out to be nothing.
But Turner managed to sink the Section 702 reforms, and the Spy State went about business as usual.
Two years later, Section 702 renewal is on the table again.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is under pressure by some in the GOP to only consider Section 702 reauthorization as a standalone bill.
When Congress reconvenes in Washington, D.C. today, one of their priorities will be passing a budget for the remainder of the fiscal year.
You’ll remember they passed a continuing resolution to fund the government at Biden-Schumer-Pelosi spending levels last fall, but that only runs through the end of January.
This “must-pass” legislation gives the statists opportunities to slip in their own special projects . . . like Section 702 renewal.
You and I need to act quickly and let Congress know we won’t stand for Section 702 renewal as part of a budget bill.
You and I need to demand Speaker Johnson have a standalone bill so we know where our representatives stand on the issue.
And you and I need to let our representatives know we’re done with the government spying on innocent Americans in direct violation of the U.S. Constitution.

The Deep State is desperate to keep Section 702 in place. Even Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) is floating the idea of an 18-month “clean” renewal so Congress won’t have to go on the record until the midterm elections are over!
I know you agree warrantless surveillance is a power the Swamp never should have been given.
And it’s a power the Swamp
does not want to lose.
While you and I came closer than ever before to winning this critical issue in 2024, the Swamp has worked every day since then to try to change hearts and minds.
That’s why it’s so important you and I do everything ([link removed]) we can to pull out all the stops.
The reality is a clean refresh of FISA Section 702 would show utter disrespect for the American people.
It would be outrageous.
But don’t put it past the Spy State to pull such a stunt.
That’s why you and I need to turn up the pressure on our senators and representatives, demanding they reject any efforts to RAM renewal of Section 702 into any “must-pass” legislation.
There are two things I need you to do:
First, s ([link removed])ign your STOP THE SURVEILLANCE STATE petition ([link removed]) to stop Senator Tom Cotton's quiet end-around pushing an eighteen-month “clean” renewal of Section 702.
You and I need to tell Congress, we’ve had it with our own government spying on innocent Americans.
It’s time to put the Constitution first!
And then I need to ask you to go one step further ([link removed]) if you possibly can.
You see, Campaign for Liberty can’t afford to pull out all the stops to finally win this critical fight without an immediate influx of funds.
I know times are tough -- they are for us, too.
But those who want to see freedom stamped out in this country know good and well many Americans are wising up to their schemes.
Now is a crucial time to stop Tom Cotton’s end around by ramming Section 702 renewal into “must-pass” legislation to avoid a stand-alone vote.

You and I simply must do all we can to stop it ([link removed]).
Please sign your STOP THE SURVEILLANCE STATE petition ([link removed]) and agree to your largest possible donation ([link removed]) so Campaign for Liberty can finally put an end to warrantless spying on Americans.
Your support will enable Campaign for Liberty to turn up the heat on Congress RIGHT NOW -- when it matters most.
So would you consider a generous donation of $500 or $250 ([link removed]) to help restore your constitutional rights on this very important issue?
If $500 or $250 is too much at this time, can you give $100 or $50, or at least $25 ([link removed])?
I’ve never felt more positive about putting a dagger in Section 702. Please sign your STOP THE SURVEILLANCE STATE petition and make a generous donation today ([link removed]).
For liberty,
John McCardell
P.S. The “crown jewel” of the Washington, D.C. Spy State –- Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) – expires in April unless Congress takes early action or tries to slip it into another bill.
This is the section of federal code the Deep State was caught red-handed abusing over and over and over . . . MILLIONS of times in the past several years!
Section 702 allows the NSA to collect your emails, browser history, and chat logs and even listen in on your phone calls.
