John -

Five years ago today on January 6, 2021, my third day in Congress, a violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol in a deliberate attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.

January 6 was a dark day for our nation - and we cannot allow the truth of that day to be erased. John, if you believe no one is above the law, I’m asking you to add your name now → [[link removed]]

This violence was incited by Donald Trump and his far-right extremist allies, many of whom are still in power today.

And we know how 2025 went: Trump returned to office and immediately abused his authority, pardoning more than 1,500 January 6 insurrectionists - including individuals who assaulted police officers. Dozens have already gone on to commit new, heinous crimes.

I believe accountability matters and that no one is above the law. Not the president. Not extremists. Not anyone.

They will do anything to distract from the truth, which is why we need to stand together today. Add your name and demand accountability now → [[link removed]]

I will always honor the Capitol Police, law enforcement, and National Guard who defended our democracy that day.

Thanks for speaking up today,

Marilyn
