Friend,
Five years ago today, our nation witnessed one of the darkest moments in modern American history.
On January 6, 2021, violent extremists, encouraged by Donald Trump, stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn a free and fair election. They attacked police officers, shattered windows, and tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power. They tried to silence the American people.
We must never forget what happened that day, and we must never allow it to happen again.
As Colorado’s Secretary of State, I saw firsthand how Trump’s lies and conspiracy theories threaten election workers, fuel harassment, and put our democracy at risk. I refused to back down then, and I won’t back down now.
But the truth is, the same forces that led to January 6 are still here. Extremists continue to spread disinformation, undermine confidence in elections, and push policies that strip away rights and weaken the rule of law. That’s why this campaign matters.
If we want leaders who will defend the Constitution, protect our elections, and uphold the rule of law, we have to build that future together. And we have to do it now.
If you’re able, will you chip in today to help me continue the work of safeguarding democracy as Colorado’s next Attorney General? [[link removed]]
January 6 was a wake-up call for the nation. What we continue to do will shape our future.
Thank you for standing with me, today and every day, in defense of our democracy and nation.
With gratitude,
Jena Griswold
