** Real Clear nails it.
------------------------------------------------------------
RealClearEnergy ([link removed]) (1/4/26) editorial: "Just like fossil fuel divestment, climate court cases to punish fossil fuel (oil, coal, natural gas) producers do not work, and they should be rejected by climate change advocates themselves. The allegation is that fossil fuel companies misrepresented the impacts of their products and caused untold billions of dollars in climate and weather damages. Energy Realism proves the exact opposite. Since the industrial revolution fossil fuels have built the world around us, giving us living standards our ancestors could have only dreamed about. As we continue to see in Blue States, where increasingly stricter climate and CO2 emission reduction policies outweigh all other economic and common sense considerations, higher energy prices appear to be the goal: 'High Electricity Prices Are a Choice Blue
States Make Every Day.' Artificially increasing the prices of fossil fuels to force the switch to renewables is a regressive tax that hurts poor Americans and communities of color the most."

** "Sable is rushing to restart this failed oil pipeline without following basic safety laws and without even making the necessary repairs, posing an immediate threat to lives, property, and the environment across a large part of our state."

Surely attacking your own power grid will gain the support of the people.

** The Guardian ([link removed])
(1/4/26) reports: "German leftwing militants protesting over the climate crisis and AI have claimed responsibility for an arson attack that cut power to tens of thousands of households in Berlin. The fire that broke out on a bridge across the Teltow canal in the south-west of the capital early on Saturday could deprive up to 35,000 homes and 1,900 businesses of electricity – and in many cases heat – until 8 January, the grid company Stromnetz Berlin said. The group said it wished to apologise to the less well-off who had been affected by the power cut, but said its sympathy was limited 'for the many villa owners' now in the dark. Experts said attacks on energy infrastructure required little specialist knowledge to have a dramatic impact, with maps featuring key components of the power grid widely available online and few contingency plans ready to be enacted in case of sabotage."

You're welcome, Stelantis.

** CNBC ([link removed])
(1/1/26) reports: "Stelantis is resurrecting a V-8-powered Ram pickup truck called the TRX as the company faces fewer federal emissions regulations and enacts a U.S. sales turnaround plan for its brands. The automaker said Thursday that the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will be available late in 2026 for around $100,000. It was first produced for the 2021-2024 model years before being canceled as the company de-emphasized V-8 engines. Despite relatively low sales in the past due to the vehicle’s price, the TRX is viewed as a “halo” model for the brand, or a high-end vehicle that brings attention to Ram and potentially boosts sales for other models. It’s been a successful strategy for Kuniskis, especially with the company’s SRT performance vehicles."
