Don’t Be Trashy: Remove Decorations Before Tree Disposal
When the holidays are over, your live Christmas tree still has options: curbside yard waste pickup, the county Landfill or the Compost Facility (both now open Sundays). Just remember: remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, nails and tree stands before disposal. Don’t be trashy, keep it decoration-free so it can be properly recycled.

Applications Are Open for the 2026 Internship Program
Do you know a student who’s looking for a summer internship that offers more than just course credit? Prince William County’s paid internship program gives participants the chance to do meaningful work, gain real-world experience and make a positive impact in the community. It’s a hands-on opportunity to learn, grow and see how local government works to serve the community.

Workforce Study & Implementation

A new Workforce Development Study takes a closer look at Prince William County’s talent pipeline and lays out practical ways to connect residents to opportunity while supporting long-term economic growth. Tied directly to the county’s Strategic Plan, the findings focus on education, quality of life and smart growth and why workforce readiness matters to families, employers and the future of our community.

Now that winter has arrived, Prince William County Environmental Management reminds residents and businesses to salt smarter, not more, to keep sidewalks and driveways safe while protecting local waterways and saving money. Simple steps like shoveling first and using the right amount of salt can make a big difference for your property, your pets and the environment this winter.
