John - It’s Charlie Bailey. Five years after January 6th, the dangerous lie that incited an insurrection hasn’t disappeared. It’s being revived right here in Georgia, by Lt. Governor Burt Jones. Last month, Jones appointed Salleigh Grubbs — a pro-Trump election denier — to oversee Georgia’s election security. It’s an intentional effort to place an enabler of the Big Lie in charge of Georgia’s elections. By putting an election denier in a position of authority, Jones is undermining the very foundation of our democracy — the freedom to choose our leaders and have our votes counted fairly. We’ve seen where this leads, John. And if Burt Jones becomes governor, this won’t be an exception — it will be Georgia’s blueprint. Our state’s elections will be run by those who refuse to accept their outcomes. Our democracy will answer only to Donald Trump, not to the people of Georgia. But Georgia doesn’t have to accept this future. We can fight back — right now.
