Dear Democrats,
We’re only 5 days into the new year, and Democrats are ready to hold Trump and the GOP accountable for yet another Republican war for big corporate oil. Whether it’s hostile actions in Venezuela, or unaffordable health care and groceries, we’re ready to hold Republicans to task every step of the way in 2026.
This year will have critical elections up and down the ballot, and Republicans will have to answer for their failures. Looking back on 2025, history will remember the GOP and Trump for:
* Covering up for a pedophile ring and hiding the Epstein files
* Trump tariffs and the resulting affordability crisis
* Terminating health care for millions - eliminating essential tax credits and slashing Medicaid
* An abysmal job market
* The largest transfer of wealth from the working class to the wealthy in history - the “Big Beautiful Bill”
Heading into 2026, we still have no plans from the GOP to fix health care or affordability. Instead, we have aggressive foreign policy putting us on the brink of all out war and even hostile threats to Greenland, a NATO ally.

While millions face an affordability crisis and unaffordable health care here at home, Donald Trump wants to spend billions to attack and occupy a foreign country. Trump campaigned on being the "peace president," but now he’s dragging us into a foreign conflict to distract from skyrocketing health care costs and coverage of his closeness to Epstein. If you thought America’s days of Republicans launching the US into lengthy, costly military occupations to enrich corporate oil interests were over, guess again.
We still have no plans from Republicans to replace the health care they eliminated or any effort to fix Trump’s affordability crisis. Instead, we have an already extremely unpopular military occupation explicitly for oil, proving once again that billionaires are the ones who come first in Trump’s America.
How do we know Trump’s attack on Venezuela was all about oil, he told us that himself. It wasn't about drugs – just last month, Trump pardoned the former President of Honduras [[link removed]] who was convicted to 45 years for drug trafficking. It also wasn't about removing a dictator for being authoritarian - Trump has a long record of praising dictators around the world while being hostile to our allies. Pardoning a drug lord on a whim and threatening Greenland - now that's acting like a dictator.
