CSRxP STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF DAVID MITCHELL Founder and President of Patients for Affordable Drugs Was a Tireless and Effective Advocate for Patients Washington, D.C. – The Campaign for Sustainable Rx Pricing (CSRxP) released the following statement Monday on the passing of Patients for Affordable Drugs (P4AD) founder and immediate past president David Mitchell, following a 15-year battle with multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer. “David Mitchell was a tireless champion for patients too often forced to confront egregious prescription drug prices in order to manage a serious illness and get the care they need,” said CSRxP executive director Lauren Aronson. “As a patient who lived this experience while managing an uncurable cancer, Mitchell’s advocacy carried tremendous weight and lent moral clarity to the urgency to lower prescription drug prices for patients in the United States. Mitchell, and the organization he established, played a critical role in elevating prescription drug prices as essential to the national debate about the affordability of health care, and achieving positive progress on reform. He will be sorely missed.” ### |
