We visited the biologists working to understand and protect Glacier's rare alpine plants.
We looked at how investing in employee mental health pays dividends for Glacier National Park.
We took an inside look at the winter search and rescue rangers that keep visitors safe in Glacier's harshest season.
We shared about innovative scientific research that uses mountain goat poop for more accurate population estimates.
We introduced you to Glacier's data science team and saw how the Visitor Use Management Program informs park policy.
We spent the day with a wilderness ranger to see how diverse and challenging their responsibilities are.
We took a walk on the new Johns Lake Trail boardwalk to see the enhancements on one of the park's most popular trails.

Glacier Book Club: Grinnell with author John Taliaferro

John Taliaferro’s Grinnell examines the life and advocacy of George Bird Grinnell, a naturalist and conservationist whose devotion to the natural world would help launch the American conservation movement. Grinnell’s expeditions through the American West and study of Indigenous culture made him a leading voice for preserving wilderness and wildlife. Through his work, Grinnell advanced early conservation laws, set the foundation for the protection of public lands, and became instrumental in the designation of Glacier National Park.

The Lefler brothers’ passion for Glacier runs deep. Now they are embarking on an epic journey to not only document the history of Going-to-the-Sun Road but in their words, “capture the spirit of the road and tell the stories of the people who bring it to life.” Join GNPC Executive Director, Doug Mitchell for a conversation with Logan and Jordan Lefler as they give us an insider’s look at the making of their documentary, Journey to the Sun.
