John,

Donald Trump promised to end all wars on day one. Instead, he’s starting them.

In just two weeks, he has bombed Syria, Nigeria, and now Venezuela. This is just another broken promise and a total betrayal of the platform that got him elected.

He promised to lower costs. Instead, his "tariff tax" sent prices soaring through the holidays. He promised to release the Epstein files. Instead, he’s still hiding them.

Now, he wants to run Venezuela? This guy couldn't even run a casino. And he’s failing to run our own country.

There are a lot of bad guys in the world, many of them with arrest warrants — like Vladimir Putin. But in a democracy, the President does not get to lawlessly abduct foreign leaders or occupy nations without the consent of Congress and the people’s representatives.

When Congress returns tomorrow, we face a simple choice: Do we check or cosign the President? Are we still a democracy? Will we demand that the President tell us the length of time, the number of troops, and define the terrain that’s going to be covered in this new conflict?

The truth is, the people of California aren’t focused on Venezuela. They’re focused on the rent in Los Angeles, the cost of living in Ventura and Vallejo, and the price of groceries in Pleasanton.

My job as Governor is what Donald Trump’s job should be: Get prices the hell down now!
