Email from Rep. McCaul Serving You In 2025 – A Year In Review Happy New Year! As we enter 2026, I’m taking a moment to look back on all that we accomplished over the past 12 months. One of the best parts of my job is getting to meet with so many of my constituents and carry their concerns and priorities back to Capitol Hill. This year, my staff and I completed 407 meetings in Texas' 10th Congressional District, with hundreds more in my D.C. office. I look forward to meeting many more constituents this year as I continue to fight for you in Washington! In 2025, I was proud to nominate 39 bright young Texans to attend our United States service academies. These prestigious institutions only accept the best of the best, and I can’t wait to see how these impressive young men and women will impact our nation in the years to come. My casework team works year-round to assist my constituents with everything from passport renewals to VA issues to Social Security payments. This year, we completed 1,065 cases for people across Texas’ 10th district! If you are seeking help with a federal agency this year, please contact my district office at 979-431-6480. We look forward to helping you in any way we can. Texans work hard for what they earn, and I’m proud to help make sure they get every penny they deserve. This year, I secured $7.9 million in returns to my constituents from the IRS. I'm also proud of the legislative accomplishments I achieved this year on behalf of my constituents and all Americans. As chairman emeritus and current vice chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, I launched a special committee task force this year: the Task Force on Enhancing Security for Special Events. As our nation prepares to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 2028 Olympics, and much more, our security preparations are more crucial than ever. So far, we have already held two important hearings — one on the immense threat posed by drones, and one on the scourge of human trafficking at mass gatherings. Click below to read more about our task force's work in an op-ed I penned in the Washington Times. Click to read In December, the House passed my landmark childhood cancer legislation: the Mikaela Naylon Give Kids A Chance Act. This critical bill would give kids the same access to life-saving combination drug therapies that adults already have, and it would reauthorize the voucher program I created five years ago in the Creating Hope Act. This voucher program has already been used by my good friend Dr. Allison at M.D. Anderson to gain FDA approval for immunotherapy, a breakthrough cancer treatment. The Give Kids A Chance Act has been in the works for years, and it's so close to becoming law. This January, I'll continue urging the Senate to pass it without delay. Click below to watch my speech on the House floor about the bill — and the inspiring pediatric cancer patient it was named after. Click to watch In 2025, President Trump put a stop to the chaos at our southern border — chaos caused by the Biden administration's disastrous open-border policies. When President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas abdicated their federal responsibility to protect the homeland, Texas stepped up. Our state spent millions of dollars on Operation Lone Star in an attempt to secure our nation's borders, and we deserve to be paid back for those efforts. This year, I was incredibly proud to secure a provision in the One Big Beautiful Bill to reimburse border states — primarily Texas. Our state's taxpayers should never have been on the hook for President Biden's dereliction of duty. I also became co-chair of the Friends of Australia Caucus this year, and Congress passed my legislation to strengthen AUKUS, the security pact between the U.S., U.K., and Australia that counters Chinese aggression. As chairman of this caucus, I'm continuing to support our crucial partnership with Australia and push back on China's malign activities in the Indo-Pacific and beyond. Click below to read an op-ed I co-penned on the importance of the AUKUS partnership in the National Review. Click to read As chairman emeritus of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I continue to keep a close eye on foreign policy, including the war in Ukraine. This year, I worked to pass a provision to identify, track, and locate the Ukrainian children who have been abducted by the Russian Federation. Russia not only abducts these children, but they also brainwash them and send many to the frontlines to fight against their own homeland. Russia’s attempt to re-engineer an entire generation is a battle plan. In their words, they are preparing children for war against NATO. These children's repatriation is a national security imperative — and beyond that, it’s a moral imperative. Click below to watch my special remarks at a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations hearing titled, “The Abduction of Ukrainian Children by the Russian Federation." Click to watch Throughout the year, I also participated in dozens of committee markups and hearings, where I was able to hold valuable discussions with key witnesses including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. As always, it’s been an incredible honor to serve you throughout the past year, and I look forward to all we will accomplish in 2026! McCaul News Coverage Highlights From 2025 The Texas Tribune: Rep.
