In the year since the Los Angeles Wildfires, we’ve seen how capitalism responds to climate disaster: Landlords gouging rent as thousands of displaced Angelenos look for new homes, Billionaires like Rick Caruso paying private firefighters to protect their property while working Angelenos depend on incarcerated firefighters making only dollars a day to save their homes and lives, and insurance companies putting their own profits above public safety.
As socialists, we demand more for our planet, our communities, and our future. We must rebuild LA to protect our communities from climate catastrophe—not the needs of speculators and developers. Across our city and county, we are fighting to end fossil fuel extraction, develop publicly owned infrastructure, rapidly decarbonize the transportation sector, curb car dependence, build more green public spaces, and beyond. If you’re ready to build a better city and a better world in 2026, now’s the time to get involved with DSA-LA and make that goal a reality. Read on for opportunities to engage this week.

Email your representative: No War with Venezuela!
|
The Trump Administration has started an illegal war against Venezuela. This is a nakedly imperialist war to install a US puppet government that will give Venezuela’s oil resources over to US corporations and to force US hegemony over Latin America—the new “Trump Corollary” to the Monroe Doctrine. This war is illegal both under international law and the laws governing the declaration of war within the United States.
Email your representatives in Congress now to urge them to oppose this illegal war and demand the passing of a War Powers Resolution blocking Trump’s military aggression!
