Trump’s unconstitutional actions over the weekend are another crystal-clear test of presidential power. This is deeply concerning for all of us.  

Trump is WRONG, he does not have the unilateral right to take this country to war, not even against a brutal authoritarian like Maduro. Nor does Trump have the right to “run” Venezuela.  

At a time when our daily lives are unaffordable and prices keep going up, our taxpayer dollars cannot go towards “running” a foreign country! Stand with me and demand accountability and transparency from Trump and his administration!

The Constitution declares that ONLY the United States Congress has the power to declare war. ONLY Congress. NOT the President.  

What’s more, Trump claims capturing Maduro is about protecting Americans from drugs entering our nation. But Saturday’s actions come on the heels of Trump pardoning convicted drug trafficker ex-Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández! If the reason for snatching Maduro and his wife is because they’re narcoterrorists, then why pardon a convicted drug kingpin?  

Enough is enough. Trump does NOT have the unilateral power to launch military action that risks escalation, regional instability, or global consequences. Period. The power resides with the legislative branch, not the executive.  

And our taxpayer dollars should NEVER go towards “running” a foreign country. Add your name if you agree!

This moment demands restraint, constitutional fidelity, transparency, and courage from Congress to reclaim its role. Anything less is surrender.
