Hi y'all,
I’m MJ Hegar, and I’m proud to be the Democratic nominee for Texas’ next U.S. Senator. I’m reaching out because Gina and I have got a lot of work to do to win Texas and we’re going to need your help. I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why I’m asking for your support.
Texas is a battleground state. It’s clear, we have a real shot to flip it this year. Up and down the ballot, we have strong candidates running because they believe in things like protecting our health care, defending Medicare and Social Security, ending the gun violence epidemic -- and so much more.
We can win, but it won’t be easy. Pitch in now to help Gina and me build the powerful grassroots campaigns we’ll need to win our races and flip Texas!
Texans all over are fed up, and they’re saying enough is enough. We have had it with politicians who sell us out to the highest special interest bidder, put politics over country, and march in lockstep with powerful DC bosses like Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy-- instead of serving Texans.
Just look at my opponent, Sen. John Cornyn. After 18 years in the Senate as Mitch McConnell’s henchman, he’s seen his approval ratings tank -- to 10 points below Ted Cruz! -- so now he’s calling in all his DC allies from the Koch network to Donald Trump Jr. to prop him up.
And, based on how Gina’s opponents have campaigned, we know either Raul Reyes or Tony Gonzales will be just another Trump puppet who takes corporate PAC checks and is too scared of a tweet to do what’s right for TX-23.
Gina and I can win. We both served our country in uniform. That means that we will always put politics over country, no matter what. We took an oath to our Constitution, and you better believe that we will always uphold it.
But it’s going to take a lot of hard work and resources to defeat the big money pouring into Texas to back our opponents. Will you pitch in now to make sure Gina and I have the resources we need to flip Texas?
Saddle up, y’all, because we’ve got work to do!
MJ Hegar
