This weekend, Trump launched a military operation to oust Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro — without approval from Congress, notice to our allies, support from the American people, or a plan for what comes next.

Make no mistake: this operation isn't about the welfare of the Venezuelan people or combating drug trafficking.

It's about oil and power for Donald Trump and his crony allies. 

After campaigning on ending foreign wars, Trump has plunged our military into another regime change conflict about oil — and needlessly put our servicemen and women in harm’s way.

As a top member on the Foreign Affairs and Intelligence Committees, we will demand a full briefing to Congress and hold the administration accountable for justifying this unlawful attack.

The American people are demanding answers – and we will get them.
