Without your support, the work Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) does would not be possible. Thanks to you, our teams reach people in crisis with independent, compassionate, lifesaving medical care—every single day.
Today, we’re delighted to share an important moment for MSF USA: Tirana Hassan has officially stepped into her position as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Tirana is a social worker, lawyer, and nonprofit executive with more than 20 years of experience advocating for—and alongside—people affected by conflict and crisis around the world. She first worked with MSF in Somalia in 2007, where she served as a humanitarian affairs officer.
Throughout her career, Tirana has carried core MSF principles with her: Impartial care, the dignity of the people we serve, and the responsibility to bear witness.
“MSF has been a moral and professional touchstone for me since I began my career in humanitarian action,” said Tirana. “It is a privilege to return to MSF at this critical moment in the world. I am inspired by the dedication of the staff, the deep commitment of the donor community, and the courage of teams delivering care under some of the toughest conditions on earth.”
At a time filled with devastating crises and cuts to humanitarian aid, we are incredibly excited for Tirana’s leadership, experience, and dedication.
Because you’re a supporter of this global movement, we wanted to make sure you got the chance to get to know Tirana a little better. Please take a moment to watch a short message from Tirana Hassan, the new CEO of MSF USA.
Thank you for standing with MSF.
