“Foreign occupier.” These are all real statements that a sitting Republican elected official made about me. My name is Raja Krishnamoorthi (but you can just call me Raja). I’m an immigrant, Member of Congress, and a proud American. It’s unacceptable and dangerous that in 2025, elected officials feel emboldened to spew outright hate speech and call for the mass removal of Indian Americans like me. The cruel tactics and racial profiling used by ICE, DHS, and Donald Trump have given license to racists to harass whomever they choose, including me. But it’s not just about me. Trump’s rhetoric and actions enable racial targeting and amplify the worst in humanity. It’s up to all of us to push back on this hate. No matter what the racist MAGA extremists say, I’m a proud American citizen. And I love this country enough to fight like hell for it. That’s why I’ve spent every single day taking these racist bullies on – from standing up to Kristi Noem to getting the police called on me for trying to inspect ICE facilities. It’s also why I’m running for Senate. If you want leaders who refuse to flinch in the face of hate — who’ll rise up to meet the threat Trump poses head-first — I need you in this fight with me, John.
