Friend,
Do you remember what it was like to wake up on January 6th
and see your nation’s Capitol under siege?
The shock. The disbelief. The pit
in your stomach as images poured in of chaos, violence, and an attack
on the peaceful transfer of power — something Americans had always
taken for granted.
Tomorrow marks five years since
that day. And while the barricades have come down, the danger to our democracy has never been
greater.
January 6th was not just an attack
on a building in Washington. It was an attack on
the very foundation of our democracy. It was a reminder that our democratic
institutions are fragile, and that it only survives if everyday
citizens are willing to stand up and defend it.
That is why Country First was born and that it is why
Country
First exists.
In the aftermath of January 6th,
Americans from across the political spectrum came together because we
refused to accept extremism, lies, and division as the future of our
country. We believed — and still believe — that there is a Reasonable
Majority willing to put country over party and democracy over
power.
Five years later, the fight
continues.
The same forces that fueled January
6th are still trying to undermine trust in our elections, weaken
democratic norms, and divide Americans. The question is the same as it
was then:
Will
we stand by — or will we act?
Today, we’re asking you to help
lead the answer.
Will
you make a contribution to Country First to help defend and renew
American democracy?
Your support allows us
to:
- Mobilize
Americans who believe in truth, the Constitution, and the rule of law
through our Days of Action campaigns
- Push
back against extremism and anti-democratic movements.
-
Build a durable, pro-democracy
movement that lasts beyond any single election or candidate through
our Future Democracy Leader
program.
On January 6th, many Americans felt
powerless as they watched events unfold. Today,
we’re not powerless.
We have the power to
organize. We have the power to speak out. And we have the power to act — together.
Thank you for standing with us, for
remembering what’s at stake, and for continuing the fight for the
country we all love.
Country First — always.
In gratitude,
Country First Team
P.S. Tomorrow at 1 PM Eastern. We’re organizing a
Day
of Action to urge House Leadership to do what should
already be done: hang the plaque and formally honor the law
enforcement officers who defended our democracy. If Members of
Congress truly Back the Blue, this should be easy. RSVP
