Ronald Reagan once said when he ran for governor of California:

“I am not a politician… We’ve had enough of the wheeling and dealing, and enough of the schemers and the schemes.”

That was true in 1966. It’s even more true in Minnesota today.

Governor Tim Walz has presided over one of the most reckless breakdowns of government oversight in our history. The Star Tribune reported the Legislative Auditor’s findings: Medicaid fraud went unchecked, taxpayer dollars were wasted, and the Department of Human Services ignored clear warnings. The people footing the bill — you — were left in the dark.

This isn’t a slip-up. It’s a pattern of failure. And it’s happening while Walz’s political insiders protect themselves, not Minnesotans.

Let’s be clear: Fraud in healthcare programs robs the vulnerable of help they desperately need. Mismanagement in government robs every family working to put food on the table. And when leaders ignore it, they’re not just careless — they’re complicit.
