Hello John,

Happy New Year! I am delighted to share some exciting news from the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. I am pleased to announce the recent promotion of Spencer Kashmanian, our Chief of Staff, to Executive Vice President (EVP) of ISI.

Over nearly five years, Spencer has been an indispensable advisor, manager, and strategic partner on the senior leadership team. This promotion recognizes the significant responsibilities he already carries and supports ISI's continued growth as we expand our educational programs to reach more students with the ideas of ordered liberty.

In his work, Spencer combines a deep love for conservative thought and the Western tradition with a commitment to operational excellence and effective communications. Prior to joining ISI, he worked at a national firm providing strategic direction to marketing and fundraising at a range of conservative and religious nonprofits.

Spencer studied politics, philosophy, and economics at The King's College in New York City. He and his wife—who is a former ISI Honors Fellow and Collegiate Network alum—have four children and live in Pennsylvania near ISI's Delaware headquarters.

In his new role, reporting directly to me, Spencer will serve as ISI's primary deputy leader, overseeing internal operations and turning our shared vision into effective action across the organization. He will manage directors of programs, marketing, media, events, advancement efforts, and the Collegiate Network, while driving alignment and ongoing improvement in our operations, systems, team, and culture.

Spencer will also lead our annual strategic and operational planning, ensure goals align with budgets and staffing, and maintain disciplined progress reviews. This step strengthens our ability to deliver on ISI's mission: educating the next generation of leaders in the principles of freedom, virtue, and responsibility.

I look forward to working closely with Spencer and our whole team at ISI to continue identifying, educating, mentoring, and launching the next generation of American leaders. We are grateful for your continued partnership and support as we build an even stronger ISI together.

Warm regards,

John A. Burtka IV
