Team,
On today’s edition of Speaking Frankly, I would like to highlight how I believe American workers are the key to creating a growing economy and combating climate change.
Labor unions like the United Steelworkers (USW) work to create jobs and support workers, and they know that more jobs exist in the untapped potential of the clean energy industry. To that end, as you may know, in 2006 the USW partnered with Sierra Club to create the Blue Green Alliance, which recognizes that increased investment in clean energy will not only support a more sustainable planet, but also reignite the manufacturing industry and create thousands of new good-paying jobs.
I believe we can enhance our energy utilization by investing in a matrix of resources that includes wind, solar, and water power.
Climate change and the strength of our manufacturing industry are both pressing issues that Congress must act on urgently. Once elected to Congress, I will work to support policies that promote both the clean energy industry and the creation of more good-paying jobs for working families in Northwest Indiana and across our nation.
But I’ll need your help to make this vision a reality. Support my run for Congress: Chip in $10 or $15 now →
Thanks so much for your support, friend.
