Historic funding in rural health care is coming to Georgia.
Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, or Working Families Tax Cuts, the largest fund for rural hospitals in history was created – The Rural Health Transformation Program - to ensure all Americans have access to the affordable, quality care they deserve.
The state of Georgia is set to receive a total of $218,862,170, money that will go directly to the communities that need it the most. As a pharmacist, I am proud to have supported this bill and program from day one and am committed to seeing that it is successful in the Peach State.
This groundbreaking initiative, that every single Georgia Democrat – including Senator Jon Ossoff - voted AGAINST, represents the Trump Administration’s commitment to ensuring that your health outcomes are not determined by your zip code. No matter where you live, you deserve to be able to see a doctor when you need to. With this unprecedented investment, Republicans are transforming rural care, making it more effective and sustainable for the long term.
This is a forward-looking fix, not a short-term bandage.
The Rural Health Transformation Program is uniquely designed to meet the needs of rural families while promoting innovation and long-term sustainability of rural health care. This program will help states expand rural access to care, strengthen the rural health workforce, modernize rural facilities and technology, and support innovative models that bring high-quality care closer to home.
I’ve had the privilege of spending time in nearly every Georgia county, and while we have some of the best providers in the nation, the story I hear – particularly in rural areas – is always the same: We don’t have the resources we need to keep our residents healthy.
That is unacceptable; finally, we’re doing something about it – without any help from the Democrats, I might add.
The Trump Administration is committed to strengthening and modernizing rural access to care and supporting the communities that keep our nation running.
This bold investment underscores Republicans’ commitment to rural America—ensuring healthier communities by bringing quality care close to home for rural families.
Just like telehealth brought providers into homes nationwide, this investment will bring health care providers and resources to more patients, bringing us closer to the goal of Making America Healthy Again.
