SPOTLIGHT

A New Year Message from Andrew:

"As we start the new year, I remain focused on what matters most: delivering real results for Long Island. In 2026, I will continue working to keep our communities safe, protect critical resources like 9/11 health care, and fight for policies that make life more affordable for families across our region. I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent you and look forward to the work ahead.”

Long Island's 4 representatives all rank among most centrist in Congress, analysis finds

"That’s great!" responded Garbarino when informed of his high centrist voting rank. "I come from a pretty middle-of-the-road district," he said, adding that other areas of Long Island also give off a purplish political hue. "I'm doing my district right by having that ranking."

Garbarino also offered, "I’ve said I think the Republican Party is a big tent party, meaning that, you know, Republicans from New York are different than Republicans from Florida, which are different than Republicans from California, which are different than Republicans from Montana."

Erin Covey, a House elections expert at the nonpartisan handicapper The Cook Political Report, says, "I think it's ultimately a function of the fact that these members all represent purple, or purple-ish, seats. They're voting in a way that reflects their districts and will also benefit them politically."

Supporting Local Leadership on Long Island

Andrew was proud to attend the swearing-in ceremony for 13 new judges in Suffolk County, marking an important moment for Long Island’s judicial system. Andrew was honored to serve as the sponsor for Islip Councilman Jim O’Connor, who was sworn in to serve on the Family Court.

Local leaders play a critical role in shaping our communities, and Andrew looks forward to working with them to deliver results for Long Island families.

Casework Highlight: Continuing to Deliver for Long Island in 2026:

Helping Long Islanders navigate federal agencies is one of the most important parts of Andrew’s job. In 2025, Andrew’s office returned more than $1.6 million to constituents, responded to over 24,000 constituent contacts, and successfully resolved more than 1,400 individual casework requests.

As we begin 2026, Andrew and his team look forward to helping even more Long Islanders get the assistance they need. Whether it’s the VA, Social Security, Medicare, the IRS, passports, or other federal services, the office is always ready to step in and help. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
