Happy New Year to you!
Yay! My first time typing 2026, and I didn't mess it up! (Do you also mix up the years and type the old date for the first few weeks?)
I'm really sorry I was not able to post a Frugal Friday article. I had an early medical appointment that was a test, and it left me feeling horrible for the rest of the day. I came home, went right to bed, and slept for hours.
I spent most of the week doing my favorite thing, writing. I wrote some freelance articles for an upcoming magazine (I'll name names when I'm able to) and really enjoyed it. Writing for print is a lot different from writing for the web, but I've finally figured it out. If you're an aspiring writer, some advice I have for you is to stretch yourself. Don't only write in your preferred genre or style. Step outside of that, and you'll see that the kind of writing you like to do will improve as well. Remember, you are a writer, not just a writer of one thing.
I'm already working on an outline for my next fiction book. I've loved writing nonfiction books for the past decade, but I can't tell you how much I love crafting a good story. Winter keeps me more limited due to the gosh-awful pain in my joints, but when I'm working on a story, I don't mind being at home under an electric blanket. Reading was my escape when I was younger, and now writing is both my escape and my vocation. Whenever I feel sorry for myself due to health and mobility troubles, I try to remember that I'm living my lifelong dream and not everyone gets to do that.
By the way, if you haven't picked up Haven Hill in paperback yet, you can do it here:

Thank you so sincerely for the beautiful reviews you have left already. They warmed my heart to read and I want you to know how much I appreciate each one.
I need eleven more five-star reviews to reach the 25 necessary to show up in Amazon's suggestions. If you feel I've earned five stars, please consider leaving a review or rating to help get me there. It will help me so much.
I don't know about you, but I'm always kind of glad when the holidays are over. I love them, but carefully wrapping my ornaments and packing them away, taking down the tree, and cleaning up a newly empty space always makes me feel fresh and hopeful, like I'm making room for all the good things that the year ahead has to offer me. Also, my schedule gets back to normal and I so need a schedule to function efficiently. (hahaha sad but true!)
I hope that your holiday season was everything you dreamed it would be and that you are ready for the new year ahead. I remain ever optimistic that America and all her people will thrive.
Stay safe.
Be happy.
Love,
Daisy
