John, There have been nearly 2,000 reported incidences of discrimination and hate speech against the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Scapegoating and fearmongering an entire community is unacceptable. It will do nothing to help us defeat this public health emergency. Earlier this year, we joined other non-profits in the Love Has No Labels Campaign—the Ad Council’s five-year-old, flagship anti-discrimination campaign. Their latest effort launched this week is Fight the Virus. Fight the Bias, a public service advertising campaign. The campaign includes additional online resources for users to get a deeper understanding of the discrimination facing the API community in our country—and how we can all be part of the solution to end it. The Council joined this effort because this moment calls on us to do more to connect our pursuit of a fair and just immigration system to the pursuit of a fair and just society and freedom for all. Now, we invite you to join the Council and view, share, and activate these resources.
Sincerely,
P.S. Support the Council’s communication strategies to shape a fair and just immigration system. |
