Only hours after bragging on social media about doctors giving him a third cognitive test in less than a year, Donald Trump launched an illegal invasion of Venezuela and kidnapped their President, Nicolas Maduro.



In a speech to the nation this morning, Trump announced the U.S. government is now in control of Venezuela and that US oil companies will be sent to the country to “increase oil production,” aka steal their natural resources.



The Trump administration is a criminal enterprise led by a deeply unwell president whose unraveling mind is destroying the reputation of America, inviting violent retribution at home, and endangering us all.

Trump needs to be impeached and removed from office immediately. Our nation cannot endure three more years of this criminal regime.

This is also a consequence of Congress relinquishing its constitutional authority to declare war to the executive branch via laws like the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), passed shortly after the 9/11 terror attacks.

When I get to Congress, I will join my fellow Democrats in impeachment proceedings. I will also repeal the AUMF that has been used by countless presidents to wage war without Congressional approval. And I will fight to hold the war criminals in Trump’s administration accountable.
