Dear Friend,
I recently had the privilege of welcoming The Washington Post to northern Ohio’s 9th Congressional District. We were able to share the great work we do here every day - building community gardens, improving neighborhoods, fostering economic growth, fighting for the health of our Lake Erie, and so much more.
I enjoyed sharing with the writer our vision the future of our region and its people, and what we can do to restore justice for working Americans to meet the challenges of the 21st century. It is a time for patriots to stand for liberty, a time for action to protect our environment, and a time to renew the American Dream for so many working people who still live paycheck to paycheck.
I know I can count on your help in this fight.
It won't happen overnight, but with diligent work and persistence. It won't come from divisive rhetoric, but by valuing and celebrating the work and contributions of all Americans. It won't be a result of writing off Midwestern states such as Ohio that have been the muscle of our country, but instead by a full defense of our values and priorities - we are the Party of Social Security and of Medicare -- the architects of a social safety net that is the envy of the world.
Please do take the time to read the Washington Post account of life in our district and of the changes we have endured – together. I hope you will also consider a small donation to help me continue to fight for our values. Money has poisoned our politics, and our campaigns can’t be bankrolled by the big corporations but by the support of thousands of supporters like you.
Thank you,
Marcy
