Don’t worry, this isn’t going to turn into one of those LinkedIn stories. I have a toilet hanging in my office not because of a business psychology thing, but to remind me of the journey I had while building my family-owned company, ecofi.
My brother and I built the company ourselves. We literally installed toilets ourselves. It was risky, it was hard, and it took grit. Many people said we couldn’t build a successful business by working to conserve water and save people money. We proved them wrong.
That’s why I have a toilet hanging in my office — to make sure I never forget the lesson I learned in those early days starting ecofi: that by trying to do things differently, we can succeed.
