In New York, MAYOR ZOHRAN MAMDANI is already localizing and mainstreaming
big economic ideas that were once thought impossible but are, in fact,
necessary.

From an inauguration speech advocating taxing billionaires in order to
make child care and public transportation affordable for working families
to challenging a corporate landlord in support of striking renters,
Mamdani is showing how big economic ideas debated nationally can impact
local kitchen-table conversations everywhere.

If successful, Mamdani’s mainstream agenda and storytelling could
reposition economic progressives as the dominant political force not just
in America, but set an example for the world.

Elizabeth Warren says, “In 2026, the PCCC will be focused on demonstrating
that we can win – even in swing states – with bold, inspiring, economic
populist leaders who are taking on this status quo. By demonstrating our
strength now, we can set the tone for 2026, 2028, and beyond.”
