Wishing you, your families, and your loved ones a blessed 2026 filled with health, happiness, and joy. TRANSFORMATIONAL FUNDING FOR RURAL HOSPITALS AND HEALTHCARE COMING TO IOWA! On Monday, the Trump administration and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved $209 million for rural hospitals and rural healthcare in Iowa for 2026 as part of the Rural Health Transformation Program. Working with President Trump, my Republican colleagues and I delivered $50 billion for rural hospitals and rural healthcare nationwide, and this announcement of $209 million for Iowa in 2026 alone will greatly benefit our state and rural communities. This funding will support rapid emergency medical services in Iowa, keep our rural hospitals open and operational, and make high-quality healthcare more accessible and affordable for Iowans. As a former volunteer EMT in my hometown of Hull for 15 years, I can confidently say that this investment in rural healthcare will support patients and save lives. I’ll keep working with President Trump to lower healthcare costs and ensure all Iowans have access to high-quality, affordable care. $209M in federal funds awarded for rural health transformation in Iowa Iowa's rural health care improvement plan, "Healthy Hometowns," was awarded $209 million Monday as part of a federal funding program under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Their service to our state and nation embodies the values and spirit of a true Iowa hero, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten. May they both rest in peace and may God comfort their families and loved ones. All of Iowa and our nation mourns this enormous loss. PRESIDENT TRUMP'S BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL DELIVERS FOR IOWA FARMERS AND OUR RURAL COMMUNITIES I worked with President Trump to deliver big wins for Iowa farmers in the Big, Beautiful Bill. We made crop insurance more affordable for young producers, increased reference prices for corn and soybeans, and delivered additional relief from the death tax. Representing the second largest agriculture-producing congressional district in the entire nation, I can say with confidence that this bill will help our farmers and producers grow, succeed, and thrive. Read More PRESIDENT TRUMP'S NATIONAL FARM SECURITY ACTION PLAN IS BEING IMPLEMENTED! President Trump’s National Farm Security Action Plan defends rural Iowa from China and our foreign adversaries and ensures that Iowa farmland stays in the hands of Iowa farmers. It also includes my work to develop new oversight measures for foreign farmland purchases, require the Secretary of Agriculture to report threats of foreign acquisition of American farmland to Congress, and hold foreign investors who fail to properly disclose farmland purchases accountable. Keeping foreign adversaries – like China – off our farm ground is an important matter of national and farm security. I’ll keep working to ensure our farmland is passed to the next generation so that we can keep our proud agricultural traditions alive in Iowa. MY WEEKLY COLUMN: DELIVERING HIGH-QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE FOR ALL IOWANS As a father of four and former volunteer EMT for 15 years in my hometown of Hull, I know the vital importance of affordable and accessible healthcare for Iowa families, particularly our neighbors in rural Iowa. Traveling across our district, I’ve had countless conversations with Iowans about the skyrocketing cost of healthcare and declining access to care in rural communities. Iowans are paying too much for routine checkups and prescription drugs and traveling long distances for doctor’s appointments and emergency care. It’s unsustainable and must change.
