All over the nation, Americans are feeling the crunch of sky-high electric bills and grocery store prices. Not only has Donald Trump made the cost-of-living crisis worse by slashing clean energy resources across the country, he won’t even admit the problem exists.
“The word affordability is a con job by the Democrats…The word affordability is a Democrat scam!” said Trump on December 2nd.
The data tells a very different story. Grocery prices have risen 2.7% for the year ending in September and electricity costs have jumped more than 5%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Trump may be denying the affordability crisis along with the climate crisis, but EDF Action, the advocacy partner of the Environmental Defense Fund, is fighting every single day for meaningful climate action across the country and for clean energy that will keep costs down, because we understand that Americans want lower electric bills, lower insurance costs, and a lower cost of living.
