When I was born, my parents had just moved out of a trailer and into a small apartment in Woodlawn, New York.

My dad worked long shifts at the steel mill while taking night classes.

Mom scrimped and saved to feed a family of six kids. She made spam sandwiches on expired bread from the freezer and bought our clothes on layaway.

I never thought that I would run for office when I was a little girl — let alone become the first woman governor of New York.

As Governor, I’ve fought for New York families day in and day out. But right now, Bruce Blakeman and Donald Trump are working tirelessly to flip New York red and undo everything we’ve worked so hard for. We can’t let that happen.
