John, 2025 was marked by war, natural disasters, unprecedented foreign aid cuts and hunger that affected millions of children worldwide. It’s natural to feel overwhelmed by these immense challenges — but instead, our generous community took action. I am so proud of the positive changes we made together.

Here are 10 amazing outcomes that you helped to create for kids in 2025:

Bolivia banned child marriage, giving over 4 million kids — half of whom are girls — a brighter future.
New Mexico became the first state in the nation to make child care free for all families, regardless of income, providing financial relief and support to working parents.
The International Court of Justice delivered a groundbreaking ruling, recognizing the devastating impact of climate change on children’s rights.
Thailand outlawed corporal punishment, protecting millions of children in schools, homes, daycare and other facilities from physical harm.
Somalia ratified Africa’s only regional charter on children’s rights, guaranteeing greater legal protections and access to healthcare and education.
Save the Children delivered 40 tons of medical aid to Sudan — the largest aid consignment by an international NGO since March 2025. The supplies will keep health facilities running for 6-12 months, allowing hundreds of thousands of children to be treated.
In Ethiopia, 211 child marriages and 416 cases of female genital mutilation were prevented, thanks in part to the children advocating for their own rights through Save the Children’s Child Club.
Our Emergency Health Unit became the first NGO maternal and baby specialist team verified by the World Health Organization, enabling us to deploy the unit to health emergencies in countries across the globe.
More than 130 million disease-reducing mosquitoes are being released in Laos to combat dengue fever, which poses a significant risk to children's health. These mosquitoes carry a naturally occurring bacteria which reduces the insect’s ability to transmit deadly viruses to people. When they breed with wild mosquitoes, they replace the local mosquito population.
In Zambia, mothers in remote regions now have access to prenatal and postnatal care. More than 140 volunteers have been trained to use bicycles to travel to these isolated areas to ensure safer deliveries and healthier babies.
