Happy New Year!
2026 is officially here and the midterm election is just around the
corner. This year we’re targeting 33 swing districts across 17 states,
including 14 must-hold Democratic seats and 19 Republican-held seats we
need to flip.
Central to our efforts to flip the House will be Ground Truth, Swing
Left’s innovative people-powered canvassing program that aims to start
early, knock every door in swing districts, and listen deeply to
understand what voters truly care about.
And we’re excited to announce that the first Ground Truth canvasses of
2026 will begin in swing districts later this month!
So far we’ve found that voters are incredibly eager to talk, with 2 out of
3 people who answered their doors having substantive conversations that
often lasted more than 10 minutes. And we learned that 1 in 4 voters coded
as Republican actually expressed either explicit concern about Trump,
openness to voting for Democrats, or alignment with progressive
priorities. They could be persuadable voters, but they need to be heard
first!
That’s why we’re not wasting any time before getting started. And whether
