Happy New Year, John. I hope your holiday season has been filled with the joy of spending time with loved ones and resting up for the critical year ahead.

I’ve been reflecting on how the fair maps movement wouldn’t exist without people like you — the folks who answer the call time and time again to defend our democracy. We’ve asked a lot of you lately, because last year demanded much of us.

Donald Trump launched a redistricting crisis the likes of which American democracy has never seen. But we launched something, too: A wave of resistance that took on extreme politicians who are attempting to hoard their power and insulate themselves from voters.

This is the history-making, generation-defining fight that the NDR PAC was built to take on. This is our moment. Time and time again, we demonstrated that if we stand together and fight back, we can win.

But this fight is far from over. In the days ahead, we expect as many as eight states to initiate mid-decade redistricting — and we must be prepared for all of it.

We need to take on these state-level battles to preserve a level playing field in the 2026 midterms. We need to elect pro-democracy champions to serve as a check on Donald Trump’s extremism and end this redistricting crisis once and for all. And we need the resources to ensure we don’t have to make impossible choices about where to put our efforts next year, when this work matters most.
