Just a short time ago, we heard from someone who had spent years wondering if she might be on the autism spectrum. She had done her own research, read everything she could find, and still wasn’t sure how or where to begin the process of getting evaluated. What she needed wasn’t a big answer. She just needed to know what to do next. A place to start. A path forward.

She reached out to our Autism Response Team. Within a day, she had resources she could use right away: our Adult Autism Diagnosis Tool Kit, articles and blogs written by other autistic adults, and a list of local providers who could help her explore a formal evaluation.

And then, just as quickly, she wrote back with news: “Thanks to you and the information you sent me, I have an evaluation scheduled for next week. I can’t explain what a blessing this is—I started crying! Finally, something good has come for me. Thank you so much!”

Stories like hers reflect one of the many reasons people turn our work every day. Others are parents and caregivers navigating the immediate, often overwhelming needs of children and adults with profound autism and very high support needs -- needs that can touch every aspect of daily life, from communication and safety to health care and long-term planning.

Whether you’re turning to us for guidance after a new diagnosis, exploring our toolkits and resources, connecting with the Autism Response Team, seeking help with complex, high-need challenges across the lifespan, or using our employment resources, we want you to know that these services exist because of you, and for you.

Today, we’re sharing a short message that reflects the work happening across the country: the steady, practical support that doesn’t always make headlines, but truly makes a difference for people and families with a wide range of needs.
