FIRST: I stood up for working people and said billionaires should pay a
modest 1% tax to help fund healthcare — especially as Republicans gut
Medicaid.

NOW: Billionaires are openly threatening to bankroll a primary challenger
against me because of it.

Let me be clear: I will not back down from taxing the ultra-wealthy to
protect healthcare for millions of Americans.

But the attacks are real. And they're escalating.

Billionaires and their allies are furious that I've said the quiet part
out loud: in the richest country in the world, we shouldn't be cutting
healthcare for working families while billionaires pay a lower effective
tax rate than teachers and firefighters.
