Here’s the thing about running for office in a state like Texas -- it’s a team effort. Make no mistake: Texas is the battleground in 2020. We have a real shot at flipping it, but it’s going to take every single one of us coming together and putting in the hard work.

That’s why MJ and I are working together to mobilize voters all across Texas, especially in swing districts like mine -- TX-23 is congressional Democrats’ best pickup opportunity in the entire country! Help MJ and me build the broad coalition we need to flip swing seats all across this state.

Like MJ, I’m running for Congress because I believe in expanding access to affordable, quality health care, defending Medicare and Social Security, ending the gun violence epidemic, and investing in an economy that works for all Texans. For too long, South and West Texas has been underrepresented and underserved in Congress. This year, we have an incredible opportunity to change that.

We’ve had it with politicians who sell us out to the highest special interest bidder and march in lockstep with powerful DC bosses like Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy -- instead of doing what’s right for Texans.

As Air Force veterans, MJ and I took an oath to the Constitution. We know what it means to serve, and we’ll always put country over politics, no matter what.
