Trump, who issued a useless and performative federal pardon to Peters last year, cannot stand that his executive pardoning powers do not extend to the state level, and his petulance is really starting to show. The wannabe dictator thumb-smashed: "Hard to wish [Tina Peters] a Happy New Year, but to the Scumbag Governor, and the disgusting "Republican" (RINO!) DA, who did this to her...I wish them only the worst. May they rot in Hell!" Just hours later, Trump could be seen cosplaying as an auctioneer at Mar-a-Lago, where he drove up the bidding price on a 10-minute speed painting of Jesus by a "Christian worship artist" to $2.75 million. You cannot make this stuff up.

You successfully screwed over tens of millions of Americans — many of whom voted for you and the Republican Party in multiple elections — and have created yet another calamitous and completely unnecessary financial crisis. Thanks to your heartless cruelty and stunning indifference, health insurance premiums are set to skyrocket starting today for millions of Americans who get their health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. The change affects a diverse cross-section of citizens who don't get their health insurance from an employer and don't qualify for Medicaid or Medicare — a group that includes many self-employed workers, small business owners, farmers, and ranchers. We're sure everyone will be just fine with their premiums jumping by thousands of dollars per month, what with affordability no longer being an issue by way of magical presidential decree! On average, the more than 20 million subsidized enrollees in the Affordable Care Act program are seeing their premium costs rise by 114% in 2026, according to an analysis by the health care research nonprofit KFF. Truly the sign of a healthy country being run by selfless stewards governing for the greater good, right?

None of the local law enforcement agencies responsible for policing the Democratic strongholds requested federal back up, of course, but that was clearly beside the point. Fox News host and Trump advisory council member Mark Levin escalated his feud with former colleague Megyn Kelly this week, calling the conservative podcaster a "degenerate bigot" and likening her to one of the followers of infamous white nationalist Nick Fuentes. The increasingly heated back-and-forth between the pair has become yet another flashpoint in the ongoing MAGA civil war, which has exploded in recent weeks over Tucker Carlson’s chummy interview with Fuentes and far-right provocateur Candace Owens’ increasingly antisemitic conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Kelly, meanwhile, has come under fire from Levin and other pro-Israel conservatives over her refusal to denounce Owens and Carlson. Besides standing by Owens as she’s leaned further into anti-Jewish conspiracies with her baseless claims about Kirk’s death, Kelly has also taken credit for setting up a "detente" between the podcaster and Kirk’s widow Erika Kirk, who had urged Owens to "stop" peddling her unhinged theories.

Donald Trump has vetoed a bill that would expand the territory of a small Native American tribe in the Everglades because they didn't support his deplorable "Alligator Alcatraz" plans. The Miccosukee Tribe was part of a lawsuit along with two environmental groups — Friends of the Everglades and the Center for Biological Diversity — that argued that the Trump administration and Florida state government hadn’t carried out the required environmental review for the construction of the detention center deep in the cherished Southern Florida wetlands. Now, Trump is denying their effort to regain just a portion of the land that was taken from them in the First and Second Seminole Wars of the 19th century.
