This year, I've spent time talking with rangers who are barely holding our national parks together after losing nearly a quarter of their permanent workforce and enduring weeks of uncertainty and overwork during the government shutdown. Watching our forests and the wildlife they support get put on the auction block by the Trump administration. Hearing from Alaska Native leaders who are fighting, yet again, to stop their ancestral homelands from being plundered by greedy corporations.
And even though it's been a tough year, what has kept me hopeful and determined is knowing that when everything is on the line, people like you never look away. You help. You sign petitions, you donate, you make phone calls, you speak up and out. Tonight, we need that strength more than ever, friend.
I know it's the end of a long year. I know you've given a lot already — to your community, your family, to the world around you. But if you can make one more gift before midnight, it will truly change what we're able to do when the sun rises on a new year.
